Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Optimizing Outcomes: Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders (MMHSUD) Summit, taking place August 14, 2026, in Atlantic Beach, NC. Hosted by Wake AHEC and partners, this in-person event will bring together healthcare providers, public health professionals, and community partners from across NC to address the intersection of maternal mental health and substance use.

The summit focuses on improving outcomes for perinatal individuals and families by highlighting the latest advances in screening, treatment, and integrated care approaches. Participants will explore strategies to reduce stigma, expand access to care, and strengthen collaboration across systems.

Attendees can expect a full day of learning, including expert-led sessions (including NCSTAR’s own Dr. Ryan), peer-to-peer collaboration, and practical tools to support practice change and improve care delivery in SUD and perinatal settings.
